People do stupid things on occasion (especially when drunk), in this case stuff got blown way out of proportion by dumbshit media outlets desperate for page views. Having read the response from the individual in question (it found its way onto reddit) they seem to not care or are even maybe enjoying their 5 minutes of e-fame. I suppose any final decision by CCP is up to a bunch of people who frankly dont give a rats ass about EVE aside from how much RL money it makes them, and the shareholders may see the bad publicity hurting their bottom line.

I think CCP wants at least some of the panelists to be tipsy for the entertainment value. The alliance panel is more for the audience in the hall (most of whom are probably also at some level of intoxication). The serious business stuff is done during the day when people are still sober(ish)

You think you can be good at internet spaceships without alcohol? You have clearly never met ninevite. Hes about as srs bsns as it gets (gotta give him props though, nulli secunda banned their alliance from engaging his ishkur hehe)

You are the one bitching that the amount of isk given as compensation wasn't worth enough RL money. 10 bil is a lot of isk for an individual. What were you expecting, the entire goonswarm alliance wallet being emptied? The guy wasn't even hurt by this, in fact he seemed to enjoy the attention from the logs I read.
